What is a Post Incident Alert?

Despite various checks and highest possible protection, attackers might succeed in bypassing antivirus filters especially when it comes to e-mail campaigns.

Thanks to its Post Incident Technology, IKARUS offers the possibility to identify these e-mails for administrators: The IKARUS Virus Alert reliably reports potentially harmful messages that have been delivered within the last 14 days and have not been recognised as dangerous at the time of the virus scan.

Fast reaction in case of virus detection

In defiance of regular updates and heuristic analyses, the first waves of the latest complex malware samples might bypass even the best mail filters. Therefore, IKARUS checks all attachments and URLs for 14 days for all new threats. In case of finding, you get the possibility to react promptly: You will be informed via e-mail about the detected malware and receive details on the infected email. Please check the affected endpoints on local security solutions (at the time of delivery) and verify whether potentially harmful attachments and links have already been opened or clicked. As a precaution, scan the affected system again using a professional anti-virus solution or a command line scanner.
