BSI-certified EDR agent for HarfangLab Guard feat. IKARUS

In regulated and security-critical environments, vendor claims alone are often not sufficient. Independent evaluations and government certifications provide additional guidance when selecting and assessing security solutions.

The HarfangLab EDR agent has been certified by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) under the BSZ (Accelerated Security Certification) scheme (BSI-DSZ-BSZ-0021-2025). The certificate confirms the successful validation of the HarfangLab Hurukai Agent v4.3.30 in an independent, government-led certification process.

What does the BSZ certification mean?

The BSZ (Accelerated Security Certification) is an official certification scheme of the BSI designed for modern, dynamic IT security products. Within this framework, a clearly defined product component is evaluated based on established criteria, documentation, and security assumptions. The result is a transparent certificate with a defined validity period.

BSI certifications are considered demanding and are therefore rare. They require a high level of technical transparency, comprehensive documentation, and formal evaluation – particularly for solutions such as EDR systems that evolve continuously. The certification therefore also underlines HarfangLab’s commitment to transparency and its focus on use in regulated and sensitive environments.

Benefits for customers

The BSZ certificate applies specifically to the HarfangLab Hurukai Agent, which is designed to monitor workstations and servers – either continuously for attack detection and response, or in the context of incident response and forensic analysis.

For organizations, the BSI certification provides in particular:

• Independent validation: An additional, external trust anchor beyond vendor statements.
• Support for procurement and audits: A government-issued certificate helps document security requirements, for example in regulated industries or internal security reviews.
